Today, on the 17th day of the 4th month of 2025, at Thubten Dorje Drak Monastery’s Dro Dul Thuije Jampa Ling, from the 1st to the 16th day of the 4th month, under the leadership of Venerable Lama Thubten Yeshe as the fasting master, along with the monastic community and nearly twenty devoted lay practitioners (both men and women) who came specifically from various regions, the practice was excellently accomplished through the Northern Treasure liturgical tradition, taking the eight-limbed uposatha vows, and the nine-session ritual practice called “Dus Dgu’i Choga Jathab Tachog Ma,” following the sacred tradition of the previous masters in the fasting practice of the eight precepts.
Thereafter with the conclusion ceremony, through the empowerment of Jangchup Chowang (Bodhisattva conduct), the ritual of offering to the Sugatas, and the practice of Nyensong Dongtruk (Clearing the Lower Realms), including the taking of refuge and generating bodhicitta, all was adorned with dedication of merit and auspicious prayers.
This year’s white fasting practice of the eight precepts has been excellently accomplished through the complete three phases (preliminary, main, and concluding practices) endowed with the five perfections.
